Goodbye 2021, hello 2022
Published:  01 February, 2022

As corporations large and small increasingly implement these technologies, we can rest assured that our industry will remain resilient regardless of what is to come. In a previous article I mentioned that the UK must use this opportunity to access its processes and ensure that industry continues to adopt, adapt and accelerate. It would seem that this was achieved in 2021 and will no doubt continue going forward.

According to data issued by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) for November and December, manufacturing output remained on a growth path at the end of 2021, with industry expanding for the 19th consecutive growth month, despite slowing slightly.
With new unexpected Covid variants, continuing travel restrictions, and uncertainty about what will happen next week – let alone next month – the only thing we can be certain of at the moment is that if the manufacturing industry continues to prosper and adopt innovative digital technologies, then we can be sure that it will emerge triumphant should things ever return to “normal”.
