Rexnord buys Italian shaft-locking specialist
Published:  03 November, 2014

Rexnord has acquired the Italian shaft-locking specialist Tollok, which has annual revenues of around €17m. Details of the transaction have not been released.

Ferrara-based Tollok produces shaft-locking assemblies, couplings and shrink discs for industrial, process and power generation applications. Its products are used to secure rotating shafts, manage torque transmission, and counteract shaft bending and vibration. They span shaft diameters from 6–800mm and handle applications with torque capacities up to 1,500,000Nm.

Rexnord says that Tollok will help to accelerate its growth by adding complementary products and expanding its global reach. The combined applications expertise of Rexnord and Tollok will allow expanded access into “current and adjacent markets”.

“Tollok is a logical extension of our focus on maximising uptime and reliability for our industrial customers,” says Kevin Zaba, president of Rexnord’s power transmission business. “We see significant opportunities to accelerate its market penetration in key regional markets.”
