`First` full range of IE4 motors will make their debut at SPS show
Published:  04 October, 2012

The Brazilian motor-maker WEG has announced that it will be launching “the only complete standard range” of motors that complies with the yet-to-be-ratified IE4 super-high-efficiency specification, at the SPS/IPC/Drives show in Germany in November. It says that the motors represent “a major breakthrough”, and will allow users to increase energy efficiencies significantly throughout their automation processes and applications.

Visitors to WEG’s stand in Hall 3 will be able to see live demonstrations of the new motors and to meet the company’s technical specialists.

“Sustainability is the key theme for WEG at this year’s SPS/IPC/Drives show,” says Wilmar Henning, managing director of WEG Germany. “Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, right from the manufacture of our products, through to helping our customers become more energy efficient, reduce their carbon footprint and make significant cost savings. We continually push boundaries in energy efficient motor technology and the introduction of this world-class range cements our position as leaders in the industry.”

In addition to the new IE4 motors, WEG will be launching a versatile, new, multi-industry inverter drive and displaying other machines, including its W22X flameproof IE2/3 motor for hazardous areas.

Drives & Controls will carry full reports on the new ranges following their appearance at SPS/IPC/Drives.
