Gearboxes and gearmotors can be built `within hours

28 May, 2011

Baldor has enhanced its UK-based rapid gearbox assembly operation and now claims to be able to build custom-configured power transmission products within hours of an order being placed. The assembly line in Bristol can produce gearboxes and gearmotors in a variety of models and sizes, which are directly interchangeable with most other leading gearmotor products.

“Custom gearbox assembly is a popular service with OEMs, end-users, systems integrators and system maintainers, but we have now raised the bar significantly,” says Baldor product manager, Tristin Hurst. “Any single-product order placed before 1pm will be available for collection or shipment that day – and the same applies to orders for multiple products placed before midday.

“We are also now able to offer a wider range of gearbox input and output options,” he adds, “helping customers to configure the optimal solution, and to apply special paint finishes such as corrosion-resistant epoxy.”

Baldor stocks all of the components needed to assemble its modular Dodge Quantis in-line helical and right-angle helical-bevel gearboxes and gearmotors in case sizes 38–108, and in IEC or Nema formats. IE3 premium efficiency motors are available as an option.

Baldor’s build-to-order gearbox service will operate on a seven-days-a-week basis. The ABB subsidiary will ship to customers anywhere in Europe.
