Baldor has set up a dedicated gearbox assembly line at its Bristol site, capable of building its Dodge Quantis family of modular, high-efficiency gearboxes and gearmotors in various sizes and ratings. The service will allow customers to obtain custom-configured power transmission products within days. Baldor expects the service to be particularly attractive to machine-builders operating just-in-time manufacturing processes.

“We can now assemble a wide range of IEC metric and NEMA speed reducers and gearmotors here in Bristol, to accommodate customers serving both the European and American markets,” explains Mark Crocker, Baldor UK`s marketing director.

Baldor is stocking all of the components needed to assemble in-line helical and right-angle helical bevel speed reducers and gearmotors, in case sizes from 38 to 108. The range includes a new gearmotor claimed to be the most energy-efficient package available.

Baldor acquired the Dodge portfolio from Rockwell Automation in 2006.
