SPS show returns to late November slot from 2025
Published:  14 May, 2024

The German automation megashow, SPS (Smart Production Solutions) is returning to traditional slot in late November from 2025, following several years in which the event was held earlier in November following disruption caused by the Covid pandemic.

“The pandemic made us reshuffle the cards, and in order to give the industry certainty in terms of planning, it was necessary to move the SPS,” explains SPS vice-president, Sylke Schulz-Metzner. “It makes us all the more delighted to bring this end-of-year highlight back to its rightful place in the calendar from 2025 for automation solution suppliers and interested parties – it feels like a homecoming.”

The 2025 SPS will take place in Nuremberg from 25–27 November.

The last pre-pandemic show was in 2019. In 2020, SPS took place as a virtual online event. The following year, it had been due to return as a physical exhibition but had to be cancelled at the last minute, on the Friday before it was due to happen, when the Bavarian government banned large-scale gatherings in an attempt to limit a surge of Covid-19 in the region.

The physical show finally returned in November 2022 after a three-year absence, two weeks earlier than in the pre-pandemic years. Since then it has stuck to the earlier slot, with the 2024 event due to be held from 12-14 November. The show’s organiser, Mesago Messe Frankfurt, says that more than 850 exhibitors have already signed up for the 2024 exhibition, including ABB, Lenze, Beckhoff, Phoenix Contact and Rittal.

From 2025, the SPS show will open its doors in late November again

Dates have also been announced for 2026 (24-26 November) and 2027 (23-25 November).
