“We are disappointed to take the decision to cancel our Machine Vision Conference & Exhibition due to health and travel restrictions outside of our control,” says UKIVA chairman, Neil Sandhu. “Following the widescale postponement of live industry events in 2020, there was understandably a real buzz around this year’s event and a return to normality. However, as the event organiser, we are beholden to science and Government guidelines, which will now see MVC move to a virtual format for 2021."
As happened in 2020, the 2021 conference will again be hosted on the Technology Presentation Hub developed by the PPMA Group of Associations for the MVC Web site. Registration is free and visitors will be able to take part in a choice of audiovisual presentations across eight “theatres” from 15 July.
“The Technology Presentation Hub generated plenty of interest and feedback in 2020,” says Sandhu, “so we expect 2021 to follow suit based on the advancement and rapid deployment of thermal imagining and deep learning capability during Covid-19.”

The UKIVA conference and exhibition are due to return as a physical event in April 2022
