The Fluke 377 FC and 378 FC true-rms meters use a technology called Field-Sense to make testing faster and safer, without touching a live conductor. Accurate voltage and current measurements are obtained via the clamp jaw. Users simply clip a black test lead to an electrical ground, put the clamp jaw around the conductor, and are shown accurate voltage and current values simultaneously on a dual display.
Both clampmeters offer three-phase voltage and current tests in three quick steps. The meter shows a full set of phase-to-ground and phase-to-phase values. These measurements, as well as phase rotation information, can also be displayed on a smartphone and saved to the cloud using the Fluke Connect software, thus eliminating the need for handwritten notes or complicated calculations. The software allows users to log, trend and monitor measurements remotely to help pinpoint intermittent faults. The gathered data can be used to design preventive maintenance programmes.
The 378 FC model includes a power quality indicator that senses PQ issues – relating to current, voltage, power factor, or any combination of the three – automatically while capturing voltage and current measurements. Using this PQ indicator, it is easy to determine quickly if there is a problem with the upstream supply or downstream equipment.

The clampmeters come with a flexible current probe that can measure AC currents as large as 2.5kA, even in tight spaces. They also include a magnetic hanging kit with a 23cm hanging strap that allows the meter to be hung where it is needed, a carrying case, TL224 test leads, TP175 Twist Guard Test Probes, and an AC285 black grounding clip.
