Bonfiglioli merges two UK businesses at new Warrington site
Published:  17 July, 2020

Bonfiglioli Group has merged its UK operations previously located in Warrington and Redditch to create a new 26,000ft2 (2,416m2) facility in Calver Quay, Warrington. The company says that the move will give it more space, improved logistics, upgraded IT systems with enhanced security, and improved customer service.

The operations being brought together are Bonfiglioli’s Discrete Manufacturing & Process Industries business, which focuses on light and heavy-duty industrial applications, and its Mobility & Wind Industries business, which focuses on the wind, construction, agriculture, electromobility and marine machinery sectors. The company’s sales and service department is also being integrated into the new facility.

This new site will combine assembly operations with product storage, allowing the company to serve its markets more efficiently. It will employ 23 people, including external and internal sales, accounting, assembly and warehouse personnel. Bonfiglioli’s UK revenue in 2019 was around £34m.

Bonfiglioli's new Warrington site combines two previously separate UK operations

Bonfiglioli, whose headquarters are in Italy, designs and manufactures gearmotors, drive systems, planetary gearboxes and inverters. Established in 1956, the company now operates in 80 countries and has 13 production facilities and about 3,770 employees. In addition to the two operations being merged in the UK, Bonfiglioli has one other core busines – Mechatronic & Motion Systems. It claims to serve more industries and applications than any other drive manufacturer.
