The degree course, being run in conjunction with Liverpool John Moore's University, is aimed at existing Level 3 qualified employees who want to develop their skills. It will be delivered at the MTC's Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC), where students will be based at least one day every three weeks, spending the rest of their time at their employer.
AMTC managing director, Paul Rowlett, believes that the course will offer advantages to both students and employers. “For the student, it is a chance to get a respected degree while earning money and not getting into student debt,” he says. “For the employer, it allows them to maximise their Apprenticeship Levy to develop and support existing employees, developing sought-after high-level skills. In addition, the course can be tailored to suit a particular employer's requirements.”
MTC is hosting webinars explaining the new degree course at noon on January 7 and 14, 2019. For more details call 07976 316286 or email ian.buckingham@the-mtc.org.
The MTC is part the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, supported by Innovate UK.
