Conferences will help UK SMEs to decipher digitalisation
Published:  19 November, 2018

DFA Media, which publishes Drives & Controls and Smart Machines & Factories, has launched a series of one-day conferences aimed at helping UK companies – especially SMEs – to make the move to digitalisation. Under the umbrella title of Demystifying the jargon: How to make the digitalisation transition, each conference with focus on the needs of a particular sector.

The first event, taking place in Birmingham on 22 May, 2019, will be aimed at the food and drink sector. The second event, scheduled for 12 September, will be held at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre in Coventry and will target the automotive sector. A third conference, planned for November 2019, will take place in Bristol and will focus on the aerospace sector.

The conferences will help to decipher the array of conflicting information surrounding the fourth industrial revolution (4IR), and discuss the practicalities, technologies and issues involved in making the transition to digital production.

The aim is to provide a practical, jargon-free opportunity for those starting out on the process, to find out about the various stages on the 4IR journey. Speakers with practical experience of introducing digitalisation strategies will provide insights into the issues, using real-life case studies.

More details will be available here soon.
