The software will cover both standard and functionally safe components and will include software application modules designed to simplify programming and to implement sophisticated motion kinematics by simple parameterisation.
At SPS, SEW was showing a modular, multi-axis inverter system called Movidrive which will be able to control and monitor synchronous, asynchronous and linear motors, with or without encoders. The system will include single- and double-axis modules rated up to 180A, as well as compact mains-connected modules rated up to 315kW. Safe Torque-Off will be standard, with up to 15 additional safety functions available via option cards.
Another element of the system will be the Movi-C controllers for motion control and other tasks, which will be available in four performance classes: standard; power; power eco; and advanced. The controllers will be able to control 32 interpolated axes in 1ms, and will offer central data management as well as an auto-reload function for replacing axes.

SEW-Eurodrive’s Movi-C modular motion platform will include controls, inverters, motors and software
Movi-C-compatible synchronous and asynchronous motors will encompass standard and servo-gear machines in various ratings and finishes. They will include single-cable motors with digital encoders, as well as linear motors, electric cylinders and ancillaries such as brakes and diagnostic systems.
Also included in the Movi-C system will be regenerative modules, energy storage systems, DC busbars, and energy display and management systems.
