Motovario aims to double turnover with £650,000 expansion

The Italian gearbox and motors manufacturer Motovario has invested more than £650,000 to expand its UK facilities in Droitwich, Worcestershire. The main aim of the investment – the largest in the history of the company's UK operation – is to create a centre for assembling gearboxes from component parts, thus cutting lead times.

The new offices, assembly plant and warehouse were opened recently by Maurizio Negro, chief executive of Motovario’s Italian parent company.

The extra warehouse space has doubled the company’s storage capacity and boosted stock levels to more than £1.25m. A training facility has also been created for staff, distributors and customers.

The expansion is aimed at boosting and sustaining the continued growth of Motovario in the UK, as well as increasing its market share and raising customer loyalty to the brand. “This is the first and necessary stage that was required to sustain our growth and see the company turnover double within the next five years,” says managing director, Ivan Partridge.

Motovario's expansion includes a fast-build service for gearboxes

There are now three Motovario Assembly Centres in the UK, including two at the company’s partners, Betech and JJ Loughran. All offer a fast-build service for gearboxes rated up to 14kNm, within an hour.
