All data on the bus is backed up and, in the event of a fault, is repeated automatically in the same cycle. The system supports up to 64 I/O modules with up to 1,280 I/O per bus interface and an update time of less than 60µs.
No tools are needed to mount the modules, which use push-in connections. The modules and can be pre-assembled into blocks, minimising assembly and wiring times, and simplifying maintenance. Status LEDs are provided next to each channel, as well as a test point for the channel’s connector.
Safety modules with reaction times of a few milliseconds can be integrated seamlessly into the system. Sigmatek’s TÜV-certified S-DIAS safety system can be combined flexibly with standard modules, or used independently.
The S-DIAS series I/O can be combined existing Sigmatek I/O components. Existing modules include digital versions with 4, 8, or 20 digital inputs, and one with 12 2A digital outputs. More modules are being developed, including one with 16 short-circuit-proof 2A outputs, and another with ±10V analogue outputs. A 16-bit resolution input module with ±10V analogue inputs is planned, as is one with eight analogue inputs for thermal elements.
