Actuators have IP69K protection
Published:  12 December, 2012

The Italian electrical controlgear manufacturer Lovato has developed a new generation of pushbuttons and selector switches, which it describes as “the best of the best”. The Platinum series devices contain numerous small detail improvements such as IP69K protection on all actuators, and the use of an anti-rotation fastener that collapses inside the seal to allow tool-free fitting, even when the hole does not have a reference index.

The range includes pushbutton actuators, mechanical and electrical reset buttons, double and triple touch actuators, emergency actuators, integrated LEDs that give steady or flashing lights, monoblock buzzers, pilot light heads for illuminated actuators, two- and four-direction joysticks, and control stations.

Up to nine contact elements can be assembled in three rows, each containing three elements. The electrical contacts and LED lamp-holders snap onto the mounting adapters and the total depth from the external mounting surface to the end of the first contact element is just 43mm.

The actuators fix onto mounting surfaces through 22mm holes and are held in place by threaded rings. The pushbutton actuators and reset buttons have a design life of 5 million operations, while the selectors and double and triple actuators have one million cycle lives.
