Sensors show is cancelled as organisers join forces
Published:  13 July, 2012

The Sensors & Systems exhibition scheduled to take place at the Silverstone racing track this October has been cancelled. The move follows the decision by the show’s organiser, Trident Exhibitions, to join forces with the publisher, Datateam Business Media, to run a single national exhibition for sensors and instrumentation from 2013.

Trident and Datateam are working together on Datateam’s Sensing Technology exhibition to be held at the Birmingham NEC on 25 and 26 September, and will announce the new show for 2013 at this event.

“This partnership can only benefit the industry, providing a focused exhibition targeting a dedicated audience,” says Trident’s managing director, Helen Thewlis. “We have many years experience in running dedicated events alongside each other at the NEC and are happy to come together with Datateam to run a sensors event. Trident has worked closely with Datateam for our successful Mtec and Instrumentation shows in the past so this partnership is a logical extension of this successful relationship.”

“This partnership has been built on mutual respect and understanding of the market,” adds Datateam publishing director, Kathy Ambrose. “The UK needs a major sensing & instrumentation event and together we can provide that. The future looks very exciting."

Sensing Technology, now in its third year, will run alongside six other exhibitions at the NEC, including the PPMA processing and packaging machinery show. It is described as the UK`s only dedicated national sensors, test, measurement and instrumentation event.
