Invertek Drives sets up Spanish subsidiary

The Welsh drives-maker, Invertek has set up a joint venture Spanish operation, Invertek Drives Spain, which it predicts will generates sales worth £1.5m by 2009.

"Invertek began the search for a Spanish partner in 2000, but was unable to find a suitable match in such as highly competitive market," explains Rhydian Welson (above), the company`s sales and marketing director. "Consequently, we decided to set up our own Spanish company.

"We are making rapid progress across a number of international fronts," Welson adds. "This is proving to be a very busy and exciting time for the company."

Invertek has been supported in its Spanish venture by the Welsh Assembly`s overseas trade arm, Wales Trade International.
