Plug-in motor controls promise flexibility

Cooper Bussmann has launched a plug-in mounting system for motor controls which combines mechanical mounting with power distribution. The company claims that its BussBar sytem offers a quick, flexible and productive method of mounting components such as starters, power supplies and fuseblocks, without having to measure, cut, strip and connect power conductors.

Almost any make of control component can be mounted on the system`s component adaptors "off line" and then snapped into position. The adaptors can either provide a terminal connection, or come with a pre-wired connection to the BussBar.

For small control circuits, up to 630A, the system uses flat, tinplated copper bars with a 40mm centre-to-centre spacing. For larger systems, up to 1,600A, I-shaped bars with 60mm spacing are used. Power terminals, available as individual poles, or in a three-pole configuration, can accommodate most mains conductors.
