In the July/August 2006 issue of Drives & Controls magazine, we published an article, written by Steve Ruddell, general manager of ABB`s drives and motors business in the UK, on the use of variable-speed drives with ATEX-approved motors in potentially hazardous applications.

The article has provoked some strong reactions. Two experts have written articles in response to the original ABB piece.
