Maxam expands and restructures in Cornwall

The pneumatic specialist Maxam has invested £750,000 in a 1,600m2 production and administrative site in Redruth, Cornwall. This is the first move since the company, then called Stephens & Son, was founded in the early 1900s to produce rock drills.

The Parker Hannifin subsidiary has taken the opportunity to restructure its manufacturing operations to allow it to respond more rapidly to customer requests. New CNC machines will enable Maxam to make a larger variety of parts in smaller numbers.
