Alldales picks Danfoss to replace ABB

Alldales, the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) systems specialist, has chosen Danfoss as its new drives supplier following the ending of its 15-year partnership with ABB.

Danfoss is selling a range that it called the G series, which is based closely on Danfoss` VLT 6000 series of drives.

"The demands of the HVAC market dictated a change of supplier," says Alldales` sales director, Geoff Pile, adding that the Danfoss drive, being designed specifically for HVAC applications, "will provide us with a number of benefits necessary to retain our competitiveness and expand our market share".

"Today," he adds, "there is great pressure on the space provisions for plant rooms in new buildings, for example, and control panels are all but disappearing, so it is vital to have a proven IP54 drive, suitable for remote mounting, and with reliable, high-performance fieldbus control".

ABB announced earlier this year that it was setting up its own HVAC operation to serve this market directly in the UK.
