Government consults industry over energy policy

The Government has issued a consultation document on energy policy, seeking views on a range of topics, including the emphasis on climate change in its energy policy. The findings will form the basis for an Energy White Paper due to be published at the end of the year.

The consultation document follows the Cabinet Office`s earlier review of energy policy, which made several proposals, including replacing the Climate Change Levy with a carbon tax or tradable carbon emission permits.
