Mobile apps offer help on bearings and belts

28 February, 2012

SKF has developed a series of informational and calculation apps for use on iPhones and iPads. The free apps, available via iTunes, make it easier for users to perform calculations and analyses, and to learn about SKF and its products. Android versions are being developed.

The nine apps developed so far include:
•  a calculator for SKF’s bearings products, optimised for mobile use;
•  an app that calculates bearing re-lubrication quantities and intervals, based on SKF’s lubrication theories; and
•  an app that allows users to check the quality of belt drive designs.

Other apps cover machined and injection-moulded seals and advanced engineered plastic parts, and provide news about SKF products and events. One allows SKF customers to check product availability and their order history on-line.
