RCD drive module detects insulation faults

19 December, 2011

Danfoss has collaborated with a German specialist in residual current monitoring called Bender, to develop a drive-integrated module that detects insulation faults and unacceptably high leakage currents before a failure occurs.

The device (above), which is sensitive to both AC and DC, detects insulation failures in IT and TN systems. As well as protecting against insulation failures, it can detect potential faults allowing preventative maintenance to be carried out.

The pre-configured module is powered by the drive but works independently. If required, it can protect a group of drives.
