Cable carriers keep out the chips

17 October, 2011

Tsubaki’s energy chain subsidiary Kabelschlepp has unveiled a new generation of low-noise, leak-tight cable and hose carriers, suitable for use in dirty environments where the ingress of chips and dust needs to be prevented. The Tube TKA55 carriers have a new cover design creating a seamless fit that is said to prevent the entry of dry or wet chips which can cause chain wear and lead to premature failures of the internal cables and hoses.

The covers also protrude over the dirt-repelling side belts, enclosing them. An optimised polygonal design and the use of internal sound-proofing is said to result in smooth running and low noise levels.

The chain’s covers can be loosened either inside or outside, allowing quick installation and inspection of cables and hoses.

The inside height of the carriers can be used fully, even in tight bends. Divider systems are available in movable or fixed versions. In the latter, the dividers are anchored for stability.

The new carriers are suitable for high-speed applications with large unsupported lengths, or for gliding arrangements.
