Hydraulic plant wins a second gong

Bosch Rexroth`s hydraulic motor plant in Glenrothes, Scotland, has won a Queen`s Award for Enterprise for the second time in three years. This year, Rexroth is one of only five Scottish companies to win the award, which is given for outstanding achievement in international trade over a three-year period.

The plant designs and produces radial piston motors for mobile applications such as forklifts, excavators and combine harvesters. More than 90% of the site`s output is exported, with the main markets including the US, Germany, Japan and Sweden.

To maintain its competitive edge, Rexroth has invested "substantially" in advanced manufacturing technologies including CNC machining centres. It plans to open a new research and development facility at the site later this year. The factory, which opened eight years ago, employs around 300 staff.
