The Italian belt manufacturer Megadyne claims to be offering the first truly interchangeable timing belt on the European market. At the Hannover Fair, it launched a range of 8 and 14mm pitch belts that are interchangeable with all of the parabolic profiles currently used by the major European manufacturers.

The new Platinum belts can be used to upgrade the capacity of existing Megadyne Gold drives by up to 40% by replacing the belt alone and keeping the existing hardware. The belts incorporate the latest technologies in terms of their tension cords, tooth facings and body materials.
