Siemens creates systems division

Siemens Automation & Drives has created a systems engineering division which brings together the expertise of two recent acquisitions, the systems integrator Dickinson Controls and the DCS (distributed control systems) manufacturer, Moore Products.

The new Siemens Automation Solutions (SAS) division will serve users of large automation and process control systems from six locations across the UK. The acquisition of Dickinson Controls has brought with it 230 software development and systems engineers who can deliver and support systems throughout the UK.

SAS forms part of a new subsidiary, Siemens Process Automation, which will operate under the A&D umbrella, and also encompass Process Analytics, Process Instruments and the PCS7 DCS system.
