At the recent Hannover Fair, Eaton Moeller launched a new range of electronic motor protection relays with wide-ranging overload protection and variable tripping classes, allowing users to stock a limited number of variants. The ZEB relays offer an alternative to traditional bimetal overload relays with a five times wider current-setting range (1:4, compared to 1:1.6).

The relays, which operate over a range from 0.3–1,500A, have built-in power supplies, avoiding the need for external supplies. They offer adjustable manual or automatic resets.

The variable tripping classes (10A, 10, 20 30) allow the relays to be used for heavy-duty starting. They can also be used for imbalanced loads – users can select the phase loss sensitivity required for each application.

The relays can be fitted directly onto Eaton Moeller’s DILM contactors up to 100A. Rail-mounting variants are also available up to 100A. Another variant incorporates earth fault detection without needing an external summation current transformer.

Diagnostic LEDs can give a warning of overloads.
