Distributed servo drives are 20% smaller

Lenze has unveiled a second generation of its 930K fluxtorque decentralised servo drives, intended for mounting on or near machines. The drives, which integrate motors and controls, cover a power range of 120–400W, and are available in low and extra-low voltage versions.

The redesigned synchronous servomotors are 20% smaller for the same power rating, and operate with higher efficiencies.

In addition to the first generation’s CAN and Profibus fieldbus support, the new versions can also be integrated into EtherCat networks. Feedback using single- and multi-turn absolute encoders is another new feature.

Integrated positioning control using paths with up to 64 points, allows the devices to be used as compact, precision positioning drives which can take on machine network tasks without needing costly external controls. They can be commissioned quickly using free parameter-setting software.
