Sister companies LG Motion and MiniTec UK have move to new 1,400m² (15,000ft²) premises at Houndmills Industrial Estate in Basingstoke that is more than three times larger than their previous site and will give them a base for future growth and development..

LG and Minitec were formed in 2004 and 2005 respectively by managing director, Gary Livingstone. They operate as separate but linked companies, sharing production and office space.

MiniTec UK is a manufacturing subsidiary of the German company MiniTec, which makes machine framing systems and components.  LG Motion designs and manufactures its own electromechanical positioning equipment, as well as distributing motion control components and systems from other manufacturers.

“In five years we have made excellent and completely self-funded progress,” says Livingstone. “The new facility gives us the room to manoeuvre, not just with greatly needed extra space but the opportunity to take on much larger projects, expand our workforce further and gear ourselves up for continued future growth.”

The companies have achieved a year-on-year growth of around 20% and a continued annual increase in exports. In addition, a three-fold increase to a total head count to 15, includes apprentices and trainees as a part of a long-term growth strategy to develop new markets.
