Siemens` mechanical drives business gets a new head
Theo Maas is succeeding Manfred Egelwisse as head of Siemens’ mechanical drives business, with effect from 1 April. Egelwisse was with Flender for more than 20 years before Siemens acquired the business in 2005. Since then, he has managed the integration of Flender into Siemens, which will be completed soon with its legal absorption into Siemens.
Maas (above), who has been with Siemens since 1981, joined Flender in April 2006 and managed its global industrial gear business from 2006 to 2008. Since February 2008, he has been chief operating officer, with responsibility for industry, production and technology.
