IMO Precision Controls has launched a scheme that will allow users to trade in old drives for discounted new models. As part of the scheme, modelled on the Government’s car scrappage scheme, IMO will dispose of the old drives “responsibly” in accordance with Defra guidelines.

There are no restrictions on the age, condition or manufacturer of the drives that can be traded in. The new drives will come from IMO’s Jaguar range with ratings from 2.2–710kW.

“It is a great deal in terms of lower cost to the customer,” says IMO’s drives sales manager, Robert Robbins, “but we also recognise that one of the major benefits will be the significant energy savings made possible by replacing the old drives with newer, more efficient models”.

IMO has set up a dedicated Web site for the scheme (above), which explains how customers can participate and offers advice on financing options available through Carbon Trust loans.
