The Welsh first minister Rhodri Morgan has opened a service centre for Lektronix Automation and Control in Bridgend, which was built with £330,000 of aid from the Welsh Assembly. The centre, which employs 44 people, is one of three main European repair hubs operated by Lektronix, which claims to be Europe’s largest provider of industrial electronic repair services for manufacturers.

Lektronix, established in 2002, now operates worldwide with a global staff of 230 people.
