SPS heads for China, and MDA for Dubai

22 March, 2009

The organisers of two of Germany’s leading automation and engineering exhibitions are turning to emerging markets for further growth. Mesago Messe Frankfurt, the organisation behind the successful SPS/IPC/Drives show in Nuremberg, has joined forces with several Chinese organisations to set up a version of SPS in China, while Deutsche Messe, the organiser of the Hannover Fair, has announced plans for a Dubai version of its Motors, Drives & Automation (MDA) event.

The four-day SPS – Industrial Automation Fair Guangzhou will take place from 8–11 March, 2010, replacing a previous factory automation and instrumentation event held in the Chinese city.

MDA Middle East will be held in Dubai from 19–21 January, 2010, alongside local versions of the IA fair that covers factory, process and industrial building automation, and the CeMat event, described as the world’s largest trade show for internal logistics and materials handling. The Hannover Fair already has annual spin-off events in China, India and Turkey.
