• The management team at Deritend, led by MD Richard Hale, has taken full control of the company by buying the stake held by the private equity company LDC, since the original management buyout from the previous French owner, GTIE, in 2001. The Wolverhampton-based support services group, which employs almost 200 people at eight UK sites, has increased its turnover by 25% over the past three years.

THK has launched a service to repair all makes and types of ballscrew, as an alternative to buying new replacements. The service will rebuild ballscrews up to 10m long and 200mm in diameter, or supply a replacement if the original cannot be repaired.

• The Croydon-based pump distributor, KG Norman, has bought Pillinger Pumping for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will allow KGN to expand its range of packaged pumpsets and to move towards its goal of becoming the UK`s largest independent pump and motor supplier.
