Vipa sets up UK operation

07 October, 2008

The German automation and HMI supplier Vipa has set up a UK and Eire operation based in Bedford to sell and support its PLCs, I/O and HMIs. The business is being run by Jattinder Panesar and Peter Walker, who previously worked for Lenze and  together have 35 years experience in the automation and drives field.

In the past, Vipa’s UK sales have been handled by a representative and by distributors.

“By forming a UK company, we want to ensure that our customers experience high levels of technical support, competent application advice and high customer service,” says Vipa’s international sales manager, Berno Schmidt.

In addition to Vipa-brand products, including its flagship Speed 7 PLC, the UK business will offer complementary products from other suppliers.

“We are looking forward to developing the Vipa brand in the UK and, with the advantages that the current products offer and the developments planned, we are very excited about the future,” says Walker.
