On-line matchmaker helps to find PLC spares

A new company and Web site have been set up to help automation users to find rare and obsolete PLC parts that they need for upgrades, spares or testing. PLCmarketplace.com aims to match companies with stocks of old PLC parts with those that need the hardware.

A Web-based database search engine (above) will help visitors to find the rights parts. They can buy, sell and post wanted items on the site.

In some cases, PLCmarketplace.com will hold the spares itself; in other cases, it will act as a middleman between the buyer and seller. Iain Smith from the company says that stock items can be delivered the next day, eliminating much of the risk, while still providing savings over buying the parts directly from the manufacturer - if they are still available.

PLCmarketplace.com`s staff have considerable experience of the automation market. They will provide assistance with problems and technical queries, making the site more than a simple on-line database.
