Wyko takes on more apprentices

04 March, 2008

Wyko is increasing its intake of apprentices and trainees and expects to recruit 45 new members this year for its three schemes, which include service centre apprenticeships and commercial management training, as well as a four-year electromechanical engineering apprenticeship scheme.

Wyko says it is expanding the apprenticeship scheme to support its growth since its acquisition by the Eriks group in 2006, and to help provide a pool of engineering expertise for the future.

The electromechanical scheme includes both college training and on-the-job experience, and leads to accreditation with a professional engineering body. The commercial management and service centre schemes each last two years.
