Holroyd and Renishaw win Queen`s Awards
The gear-making machinery specialist Holroyd and the encoder manufacturer Renishaw have both won 2004 Queen`s Awards for Innovation.
Rochdale-based Holroyd - a member of the Renold group - has received its award for a range of high-precision thread and gear grinding systems used to manufacture helical components. The systems are said to produce precision components more accurately, faster and more cost-effectively than rival products.
Renishaw has won its award for its OMP40 spindle probe used in the automated set-up and operation of CNC machine tools.
