"It’s not just a new name above the door," stresses Eriks’ marketing director, Steve Bodsworth. "There’s a huge increase in products, services and technical know-how."

The rebranding of just part of a massive task aimed at reshaping the former Wyko over the coming years. Before Eriks bought Wyko for Ł139m in November, 2006, almost all of Wyko’s activities were in the MRO (maintenance, repairs and overhaul) sector. But half of the Dutch parent’s income comes from OEMs, and it is now pushing the rebranded Wyko’s operations in this direction, with the aim of 40% of its UK business coming from OEMs within five years. This will be achieved mainly though acquisitions.

As part of its aim of boosting its technically proficiency, Eriks has already taken on 15 new apprentices and aims to recruit a total of at least 100.

The huge rebranding exercise, which will continue over the coming months, will require 232 vans to be repainted in the new livery.
