º  Deritend’s Pre-Formed Windings division, based in Sheffield, is adding 140m2 of production space and taking on extra skilled and support staff to expand its production of medium- and high-voltage windings for motors and generators. The division’s turnover has increased by 200% over the past two years, and it exports more than 70% of its production.

º  RS Components is offering a wall chart which has a 2008 year planner on one side and an equipment schedule planner on the other. The chart also includes reference information such as guides to IP ratings and thermocouple colour codes, as well as criteria for selecting linear bearings and a guide to MCB tripping characteristics. The planner can be ordered via the RS Web site.

º  Scunthorpe-based CP Automation has formalised a long-standing relationship with Leicester-based Cressall Resistors, which will allow customers to buy inverter and resistor packages quickly and with confidence that the parts will be matched and correctly sized.
