RS takes on ABB automation products

ABB has signed an agreement with the catalogue distributor RS Components to sell its automation and process products including motors, drives, pushbuttons, safety switches, contactors, interface connectors, switch disconnectors, circuit breakers and process controllers.

The deal has taken two years to plan. RS spokesman Kevin Thompson describes ABB as "the key brand that completes our brand portfolio for automation".

According to James Haigh, general manager for low-voltage control products in ABB`s Automation Technology Products Division, "signing the agreement enhances the close working relationship that has developed between ABB and RS and provides a framework for its future progress and evolution".
