º  Bosch Rexroth and Sick have agreed to collaborate on factory automation technology, making it simpler to integrate Sick sensors with Rexroth control systems. They say that users will benefit from quicker system integration and commissioning

º  Ametek has bought the Halmar Robicon SCR (silicon-controlled rectifier) and power control systems business from Siemens Energy & Automation, which acquired the operation when it bought ASI Robicon in 2005. The business will be integrated into Ametek Solidstate Controls’ HDR Power Systems operation.

º  Schneider Electric has told an EU Court that the European Commission "annihilated" its industrial strategy by blocking its proposed merger with Legrand in 2001. Schneider is seeking €1.66bn in compensatory damages for the EC veto, which it calls a "manifestly illegal decision". A court overturned the veto in 2002.

º  The Swedish drives manufacturer Emotron has bought Dietz-electronic, a German manufacturer specialising in variable speed drives for lift applications. Emotron says the acquisition fits in with its strategy of focusing on drives for specific applications.

º  Parker Hannifin has bought Rectus, a German manufacturer of quick-disconnect couplings for pneumatic, hydraulic and other applications. Rectus, which employs 380 people globally, had sales worth $115m in 2006.

º  Danaher Industrial Control has renamed its rotary feedback business as Dynapar. The business, which manufactures encoders and resolvers, will combine the Dynapar, NorthStar, Harowe, Hengstler and Acura brands.
