Harbour Group acquires Haydon

09 May, 2007

The US-based Harbour Group has bought the Tritex Corporation, which owns the Haydon stepper and linear motor businesses. Haydon, whose headquarters are in Connecticut, US, has 11 factories on three continents, in which it makes linear actuators, leadscrew assemblies, rotary stepper motors and sealed switches.

Harbour’s chief executive, Jeff Fox, believes that there are "significant opportunities" for Haydon to enter new markets and to penetrate its existing markets further. "We will pursue complementary acquisitions that enhance Haydon’s product offering and increase its geographic reach," he adds.

Haydon was founded in 1951. It owns a linear motor company in China and has a 19% stake in another Chinese company, Linex, which produces linear and rotary motors.
