Goodbye Bill, hello MEM

The Bill Switchgear and MEM ranges of switchgear, controlgear and circuit protection products have been merged to form a single range to be sold under the MEM brand. The move follows last year`s purchase of the Delta Electrical group - consisting of Bill, MEM and Holec - by Eaton Electrical. The Bill-MEM integration is part of a much larger programme to integrate the Delta companies with Eaton`s electrical operations, which include the former Ottermill and Westinghouse switchgear businesses.

"Bill Switchgear has a loyal and long-established customer base," explains Alan Birks, marketing director for Eaton`s commercial and residential products in Europe, "but the reality of the situation is that, for some years, the majority of Bill products have been duplicated in the MEM range."

The integration programme has merged the two brands` panelboards, switchboards and distribution boards. It has also brought together the former MEM 250 and MEM circuit protection and control brands to provide a single source of electrical installation equipment for industrial, commercial and domestic applications, from switches and sockets, to switchboards and packaged substations.
