Mitsubishi erects a European umbrella

01 March, 2004

Mitsubishi has reorganised its industrial division in Europe, bringing together three operations - industrial automation, mechatronics CNC, and mechatronics EDM (covering electro-erosive processing) - under a new umbrella organisation, called the Factory Automation European Business Group (or FA-EBG).

The new organisation, based in Ratingen in Germany, is headed by two vice-presidents, Jutta Jülich and Steve Jones (who previously managed the UK operation). Jones (shown above) will be responsible for all European marketing activities with the aim of giving Mitsubishi a strong, new profile.

In future, a technical hotline in Germany will handle customer queries from all over Europe. Logistics for most of Western Europe, including the UK, have also been centralised at Duisburg in Germany, controlled by FA-EBG.
