The latest addition to the Danaher Corporation`s growing portfolio of motion businesses is the US-based Dover Instrument Corporation, which specialises in precision linear and rotary air bearing platforms.

Dover, founded in 1964, produces equipment such as air bearing gantries and spindles, spin stands, metrology equipment and custom stage designs.

"Dover is an excellent fit with Danaher Motion," says Jeff Beck, president of Danaher`s precision systems group. "When combined with our NEAT, IDC and CPS brands, Dover now allows Danaher Motion to offer customers solutions that include: heavy-duty actuators; precision X-Y tables; high-performance air bearing gantries; and high-speed air bearing spindle platforms."
