Rexroth Indramat buys the German drives-maker, REFU

01 November, 1999

Mannesmann Rexroth Indramat is buying the German drives-maker REFU elektronik for an undisclosed sum. The planned purchase, which is due to be completed by 1 January, is awaiting regulatory approval.

Rexroth Indramat says that the acquisition completes its product range and boosts its core competences.

REFU, founded in 1965, employs around 250 people and has an annual turnover of about £16m. It produces a range of variable speed drives rated at up to 400kW, and has specialist divisions for transport and mining equipment. Its products have been distributed in the UK by BSL.
