Oilgear Towler and Moog form fluid power alliance

01 September, 1999

Oilgear Towler and Moog Controls have announced plans to join forces to pursue opportunities in the fluid power component and systems market. The alliance is part of a global alignment between the partners in Europe and the Americas.

The move unites Moog`s portfolio of servo, proportional, and directional valves, with Oilgear Towler`s family of pumps, valves, motors, manifolds and engineered systems. The two companies say that the alliance will offer customers the benefits of wider global support and broader technical expertise.

The deal represents "a significant step forward in the supply of complex electrohydraulic systems," says Nigel Cottell, general manager of Moog Controls` UK industrial division.

Moog provides precision motion control components including high-performance actuators for the aerospace industry and automation products for industrial manufacturers. Oilgear Towler`s customers come from a variety of sectors including the metals, machine tools, automotive, food and chemicals markets.
